| Q: Will
I need to bring a partner? |

is not necessary to attend the dance classes with a partner.
During the lesson the instructor will be rotating the dance

to dance and practice with a partner. |
 |
| Q: Do I
need special shoes for the salsa or merengue dance class?
|
A: To
answer the question in a single word, Yes! For both men and
women a smooth bottomed, non-rubber soled shoe is preferable
for any dance class. Running shoes are not an option for they
can damage your knees while turning and pivoting. Black soled
shoes mark up the dance floors.
Women:
a dress shoe with a 1 , 2 , or 3 inch heel (flats are
acceptable)
the heel height allows the body weight to be kept forward
on the balls of the feet
an enclosed heel at the back (no straps on the heel area)
a suede or leather sole
Men:
a dress shoe
lightweight
smooth bottom, leather or suede sole
